As an avid tanner I have learn several tips in order to help improve and prolong the life of my tan. The first tip I’ve learned is to exfoliate. Exfoliating a few times a week will help eliminate the dead skin cells that may be causing patches of dry skin, leaving an uneven pigmentation. The next tip is to moisturize everyday; this will create softer, healthier skin, which retains pigmentation much longer than dry, scaly skin. Moisturizing daily will not only help you tan better, but keeps your tan looking great! Exfoliating and moisturizing a day before tanning will help you to avoid any skin irritation and give you the best results.
The last tip I recommend is using indoor tanning products. These are specifically formulated to work with the UV rays from tanning beds to accelerate your tan. Changing from one lotion to another will help to stimulate your tan if you feel you’ve reached a plateau. Tanning lotion will help provide an extra boost to help you reach darker pigmentation. Ingredients such as Vitamin B, bee pollen, corn extract, L-tyrosine, thiotaine, and Unipertan can help boost your skin’s ability to tan. These are just a few of the tips I’ve learned but if you have any questions about which lotion would best suit you, or more tips to help improve and prolong the life of your tan, ask any Tan FX employee!
